Welcome to Texas Woman’s University Certification Program in Dallas!

The College of Nursing in Dallas is located at the Parkland campus in the Dallas metroplex. The Parkland campus is located adjacent to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. The location is in the center of a growing city and dynamic work environment. The campus is conveniently located within an easy commute to health care facilities, two airports, libraries, great restaurants, and the Dallas West End. Endless opportunities exist for professional satisfaction in the city of Dallas and surrounding communities.

TWU prepares individuals who have a master’s degree in nursing for the post-master’s certification program in Dallas with specialization as a nurse practitioner or nurse educator. Nurse practitioners are primary care providers who practice in outpatient clinics, acute and long term care settings. Nurse practitioners engage in independent, autonomous nursing practice, and in collaboration with health care professionals diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ health problems.

The graduate faculty at the Parkland campus are all nationally certified in the individual practice areas of family, adult, pediatrics, and women’s health. Dallas graduate faculty conduct research in areas such as:

  • Intimate partner violence of women
  • Women and children topics
  • Smoking cessation
  • Delivery of care to culturally diverse populations
  • Innovative strategies for education nurses

Dallas graduate nursing faculty have developed distance education strategies to better serve post-master’s certification students. The non-clinical nursing courses are offered partially or completely online. The clinical management nursing courses are offered partially online. Please come to our wonderful campus in the heart of the Dallas metroplex and meet some of the graduate faculty who can provide more information about Texas Woman’s University and the College of Nursing graduate nursing programs.
