Update: Bell Avenue Closures June 1 - July 29

As announced in a previous message to the University, the City of Denton is continuing to work with TWU to repair Bell Avenue from Texas Street to University Drive.  Bell Avenue will be closed June 1-July 29, as the City works on a milling and overlay street repair project. During this period, Bell Avenue will be open for neighborhood and required TWU traffic.  “Thru Traffic” will not be permitted and will be diverted to Mingo Rd., North Ruddell St., University Dr. and possibly to Oakland St. depending on the access required. Please continue to be on the lookout for City of Denton traffic signs, which will guide drivers to alternate routes. Should you need to walk across Bell Avenue, please cross at the light at Administration Drive or at available street crossings that are still in operation.

As a reminder, should you wish to avoid Bell Avenue, the TWU North Remote Parking Lot is a convenient option with shuttle services to campus (7:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.).

The City and University teams are working together to eliminate as much congestion and inconvenience as possible during this project so please be patient with the work crews as they expand our infrastructure and improve Bell Avenue. We are excited that the City has initiated the project and will update you as we receive more information.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this process.
