TWU to host summer camps for kids

Looking for something fun for your children to do this summer? Texas Woman’s University is hosting several camps during its 2017 summer semesters on the university’s Denton campus. Camps range from fashion and nutrition, to science and sports, and cater to ages preschool through college.
Arts and Science Camps
Fashion Camps: June 12-July 28
Cost: $425 (early registration), $460 (after May 1)

W4STEM Camp (Women for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics): June 18-23

TWU Summer Nutrition Culinary Camp: June 19-23
Cost: $395, register before April and get $75 off the cost

TWU/Air Force Association (AFA) CyberCamp: June 19-23
Cost: Free to accepted participants
Students entering grades 9-12 can apply to attend this camp where they will participate learn, through fun, hands-on activities, cybersecurity principles that are relevant and applicable to everyday life. Registration ends May 9. For more information visit the TWU/AFA CyberCamp website.
Drum Major Academy®: July 5-9

Write Site Summer Writing Camp: July 10-20
This camp, offered for students grades 6-12, emphasizes the writing process in a nonjudgmental and inclusive environment. Registration closes July 1. Register using the online Write Site Camp form.

Mommy and Me Playgroup Camp: June 12-30
9:30-11 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays

Preschool Articulation and Language Services: June 12 – July 21
8:30-10:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays

Preschool Language Camp: June 13-20

Language and Feeding with Friends: June 13-20

Childhood Apraxia and Motor Planning (CHAMP) Camp: July 24-August 4 (weekdays only)
8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 3-6, and 12:30-3:30 p.m. for ages 6-11
Appointment-only pre-testing for this camp will be held on July 21, with post-testing on August 4. Both are included in the camp price. The camp’s intensive therapy approach incorporates motor learning and functional communication in play-based and real-world activities. TWU Gymnastics Camp: June 16-18
Cost: $295 resident, $275 commuter
