Danielle Woolery is an active performer, educator, clinician, and presenter. She has performed at the local, regional, national, and international levels, including performances at the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States National Conference, the University of Oklahoma Annual Clarinet Symposium, Festival Miami, and the Florida Flute Association’s Annual State Convention. She has presented sessions and clinics at the National College Music Society Conference, Chamber Music America Annual Conference, Kansas Music Educators Association Conference, and the Florida Flute Association’s Annual State Convention on the subjects of community outreach, chamber music, and the topic of her DMA Essay, “Correcting Deficiencies in High School Clarinet Sections: A Resource for Band Directors.”
Dr. Woolery received her DMA from the University of Miami where she was a clarinet teaching assistant and a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow. She was a graduate assistant at Webster University in St. Louis, where she earned a master’s degree in Orchestral Performance, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas. Her principal teachers included: Margaret Donaghue Flavin, George Silfies, Daryl Coad, James Jones, John Banman, and Bill Harshbarger. Dr. Woolery regularly performs chamber music with the Miami Clarinet Quartet and the Ardente Duo, which recently released their debut album, “Hep Cats,” on the Emeritus label. She was formerly on faculty of the University of Miami Frost School of Music Preparatory Program where she taught applied clarinet, music theory, and piano.
Dr. Woolery is a Coop Press Performing Partner and Lomax Classic Mouthpieces Artist. She is a member of the International Clarinet Association, College Music Society, the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, the National Association for Music Education, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
