B.M. in Music Education with Teaching Certificate, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi


Danielle Whiteside is currently a Master’s student and graduate assistant at Texas Woman’s University. She is working on a Master’s degree in music education. She received her Bachelors in Music Education with a teaching certificate from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, where she received many awards. She was the recipient of the Rising Scholar Scholarship, the Wright Family Scholarship, the Padre Island Business Association Grant, and the Ennis S and Virgina C Endowment.

Prior to graduate school, Mrs. Whiteside worked with the Texas A&M Corpus Christi band camp as a counselor. In that position, she conducted sectionals and taught music history and theory.

In the spring of 2012, Mrs. Whiteside became Graduate Assistant in the Music Department at Texas Woman’s University. Her duties include Assistant Director of the Pioneer Pep Band.

Mrs. Whiteside’s research focus is “Motivational Techniques for the Practicing Middle School Student”. Her anticipated date of graduation is May, 2013. She loves to teach students to play instruments and instill the love of music in future generations. After graduation she plans to seek employment as a middle school band director.
