Profile

Myles Pinder, tenor, is an Indiana native and has been hailed for a voice that is “deep and warm.” He has been teaching voice in the DFW Metroplex for the past eight years. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas and enjoys being an active educator and singer. Myles holds an MM from Southern Methodist University and a BA from Butler University. In the past, Myles was an Adjunct Professor at Richland College and a Teaching Fellow at The University of North Texas. This fall, he is honored to join the music faculty of Texas Woman’s University and Midwestern State University as an adjunct professor of voice.

When not working as an educator, Myles is an active performer and appreciates any opportunity to take the stage. Myles was engaged as a Hans and Leslie Fleischner Young Artist with Pittsburgh Festival Opera in the summer of 2020 and 2021, where he sang the role of Nico (Lysistrata). His previous opera roles include Jenik (The Bartered Bride), Jimmy O’Keefe (Later the Same Evening), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Leo Hubbard (Regina), Sam (Susannah), Martin (The Tender Land), and Alfred (Die Fledermaus).

In addition to operatic roles, he is emerging as an in-demand tenor for concert and oratorio works. He has been the soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Fort Worth Symphony and Irving Symphony, Mozart’s Requiem, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, and Haydn’s Theresienmesse. In 2022, Myles was featured as the tenor soloist for The Crucifixion by John Stainer with the Choir of St. Matthew’s Cathedral, the tenor soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the Plano Civic Chorus, and as a tenor soloist with Choirs Across Dallas’ An Evening of Grace. This year, he was a featured soloist in the Highland Park United Methodist Church Tower Arts Series.

Myles is married to dramatic soprano, Andrea Pinder, and they love to collaborate on musical and educational endeavors.
