Laurie Lee Cosby teaches applied voice at TWU. Prior to coming to TWU, Laurie taught at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she also directed the Handbell Ensemble and Montgomery College (Lone Star College) where she also directed the Concert Choir. She has also served as theatre orchestra and chorus conductor, handbell, theatre and choral clinician, church music director and junior high choir director in various venues.
 
Laurie also currently teaches voice in her independent private studio, Studio Bella Voce. Her unique studio business model that was created by her and her Houston business partner, Donna Hinds Sawyers, has been featured at National NATS Conference and Regional Texoma NATS Conference where Laurie and Donna were presenters. Laurie has also appeared as a guest lecturer and guest panel member for area universities on the topics of studio business and commercial music vocal pedagogy.

Laurie is a lyric coloratura and multi-styles vocalist with performances ranging from Classical to Country belt. Laurie has had solo performances with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra where she appeared in concert with Broadway tenor, Doug LaBrecque, Texas Brass Blues Band, The Crighton Players of Conroe, The American Theatre Company of Tulsa and The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Tulsa (Light Opera Company of Oklahoma) where she was directed by John Reed of the D’Oyly Carte Theatre in London. She has also appeared in recital performances and concerts accompanied by Dove Award winner, Don Wyrtzen and Greg Hilfman of The Bangles. Laurie has also played in semi-professional handbell ensembles including Voices in Bronze with Christine Anderson and Tulsa Festival Ringers with Jean Hendon.

Laurie is a member and former board member of DFW NATS. She has had first place winners in both Classical and Musical Theatre and winners in high school, college and adult categories. She has also had students earn numerous Tommy Tune, Betty Buckley and Column nominees.
