Program Requirements

All scholars are expected to:

  • Enroll and complete no less than nine hours during each long semester and at least three hours in each summer semester and/or summer III

  • Maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and no more than one grade less than “B” in a semester

  • Sign a Student Commitment Form

  • Submit “Research Time Sheets” monthly

  • Complete the IRB process with the guidance of a faculty mentor

  • Attend all McNair program meetings, seminars, and workshops

  • Attend a GRE class

  • Participate in academic/research enrichment activities

  • Complete a research paper approved by a faculty mentor

  • Present research at a McNair Research Conference, the TWU Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium, a discipline specific conference and/or a national research conferenc
