Literacy and Learning shines at national conference

Students and NABE Conference

Faculty and students from Literacy and Learning recently attended the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) Conference in Portland, Oregon.

While at the conference, they had the incredible opportunity to share their research with a wider audience. This was a huge milestone for Literacy and Learning students to build confidence presenting at other conferences and forums.

Attending the conference afforded students the opportunity to show how children who use languages other than English, especially Arabic, can have their language sustained in predominantly English-speaking environments.

By attending the conference and presenting their research, students took a step in developing valuable skills and experience. Through opportunities like this, students in Literacy and Learning are taking their presentations outside of Texas Woman's University to make an impact on a national and international levels.
