Disability Services

The Texas Woman's University Libraries are committed to providing access to materials for all patrons. We offer the following services to students who are registered with the University Office of Disability Support Services. Students that are interested in registering for these services should contact DSS at dss@twu.edu, (940) 898-3835 (voice), OR (940) 898-3830 (TTY). Once one is registered with DSS, the Libraries will provide accommodations as requested from the accommodation request form.

Parking & Building Access

Parking and Entering the Building

Accessible parking is available in the Visitors Parking Lot on Administration Drive near the front of the Library. Ramps at the parking lot and at the Library's front doors allow easy access into the building.

Building Accessibility

Accessible tables, study carrels, and restrooms are located on all floors of the Library. Accessible computers are located on the 1st floor of the Library in the Computer Lab.

Assistance with Materials

Users with disabilities that prevent them from retrieving library materials may request that materials be pulled for them at either the Circulation Desk or the Information Desk. The request for assistance may be made in person, by phone, or by e-mail. Please contact Circulation by email at circ@twu.edu or at 940-565-3719.

Adaptive Equipment

The Library maintains an accessible computer workstation for persons with learning disabilities or visual impairment. The equipment is located in the Computer Lab on the 1st floor adjacent to the Circulation Department. The following software is installed on the designated computer:

Jaws: window screen reading
MAGic: screen magnification with speech recognition
OpenBook: scanning and reading software
WYNN: literacy software
