About the Collection

The Media Collection is located on the Garden level of the Library [within the Children's Collection] and provides TWU faculty, staff, and students with access to over 10,000 media and multi-media titles. Materials include videocassettes, DVD's, Media Kits, audiocassettes, audio CD's, and audio discs (LP's). The Children's Collection Service Desk can assist with requests.

Mon-Thu 8am-10pm, Fri. 8am-6pm, Sat. 9am-6pm, Sun. 2pm-10pm

Circulation of Materials

• All media materials listed in the Online Public Catalog can be checked out for viewing in the Library by currently employed or enrolled TWU faculty, staff, and students.
• Presentation of a TWU ID card validating current status with the University is required.
• TWU Faculty and Staff may check out any media materials for three (3) weeks. Only one (1) renewal will be allowed on media materials.
• TWU Graduate Teaching Assistants who have been granted faculty checkout privileges as evidenced by a memo from their department chair may check out any media materials for three (3) weeks. Only one (1) renewal will be allowed on media materials.
• TWU Students may check out videocassettes, DVD's, and Media Kits for IN LIBRARY USE ONLY. Audio and Video equipment are located in the Children's/Media Collection on the Garden Level for patron use.
• TWU Students may check out CD's, audiocassettes, and audio discs (LP's/records) for three (3) weeks. Only one (1) renewal will be allowed on media materials.
• TWU Students can check out a single media title for use in a classroom presentation by having a Faculty Checkout Authorization Form completed by the faculty person involved with the presentation. Forms are available at the Children's/Media Desk.

Fines and Fees

Fines for Overdue Materials

• Video cassettes, DVD's, and Media Kits: $1.00 per day--Including TWU faculty and staff
• Audiocassettes, CD's, and LP's: $.35 per day
• All media items have a maximum fine of $50.00 per item.
• Only one (1) renewal will be allowed on media materials and new due dates should be verified.

Replacement Fees

• Cost of the item, but not less than $50.00 for available materials OR $150.00 for out-of-print items and a non-refundable processing fee of $35.00.
• The replacement cost of items only available in sets will be the replacement cost of the entire set.
