SELECT THE SEARCH PAGE YOU WANT TO USE
BASIC SEARCH OR ADVANCED SEARCH

To locate books, videos, periodicals, and other materials, select the TWU Libraries Online catalog and select the search page you want to use: Basic for a simple author, title, subject, or keyword search; Advanced for a complex keyword search. Both the Basic Search and the Advanced Search include a set limits option. This allows you to limit your search results to a specific language, date, material type, etc.

Basic searching
When you want an alphabetized list of authors, titles, series or subjects, use the basic search screen. For example, to search for works by the author Edgar Allan Poe, select Author from the Find Results In: box and type Poe, Edgar Allan in the Find This: box.. To find a book titled Ghostly tales and eerie poems of Edgar Allan Poe Poe, select Title from the Find Results In: box and type Ghostly tales and eerie poems of Edgar Allan Poe Poe in the Find This: box. . To find a journal titled Literature, interpretation, theory select Journal Title from the Find Results In: box and type Literature, interpretation, theory in the Find This: box.

Advanced searching
Use the advanced search when you have a complex keyword search or when you want to broaden or narrow a keyword search uSeptember 12, 2007 "Keywords from Anywhere," or only from specific fields such as Author, Title, Subject, etc. You may choose to have your terms searched as a phrase or where any of the terms listed must be found, or where all or the terms listed must be found.
