Faculty usually expect you to use Library Resources (databases, online catalog, subject guides...) for your research projects. Use Internet sources such as Google Scholar to supplement the TWU library holdings.

Off Campus Goggle Scholar links are not always shown in searches done off campus.
Use the Quick TWU Online Catalog Search to verify holdings

Google Scholar is fast, easy to use, and can lead you to useful information, including scholarly articles and books.
Searching Google from the TWU Library web gives you access to many FULL TEXT articles and books that are free of charge for TWU Students.
Not all materials are available through the Internet.
Use Library Resources (databases, online catalog, subject guides...) to find additional material.

Don't be charged!
You may be asked for payment for articles your TWU Libraries already have or can get for you at no charge via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

Books:
Books that are not available online via Google Scholar will have a "Library Search" link that allows you to search the catalog at TWU.

This link takes you to the TWU Online Catalog but sometimes the search is not completed correctly and/or gives incorrect results. If your search results in NO HITS always redo your search using the Title of the Book. (change keyword or ISSN to title TITLE)
If the library doesn't own the book you may be able to get it through Interlibrary Loan.
Only a few library resources are retrieved by searching Google. Search the TWU Online Catalog to get a complete listing of materials available to you.

Journal Articles:
Searching Google will give you access to a number of journal articles or abstracts. If you need access to a journal article that is not available free from Google, you may be able to get it free (full text online or in print) through the Databases.

Clicking on "Web Search" and following other web links may take you to the full text article.
If you don't find full text through the web links you should go to the TWU Online Catalog and search by journal title to determine if the article is available electronically or in print through the library. Remember -- enter the title of the Journal, not the title of the article.

Use the Quick TWU Online Catalog Search to verify holdings

If the library doesn't own the journal you may be able to get the article through ILL.
Searching the 100+ databases available to you as a TWU student will give you access to additional journal articles. Refer to the subject guides to determine key databases relevant to your topic.

Please note that in your results the "Cited by ... " link will display a list of articles and documents that cite this book. However, Google Scholar only includes articles that are indexed within its database.

Click on the Library Search link to find this title in the TWU Library online catalog.

The "article title link" will take you to a full text source
which may or may not be available from TWU. Constructing and Testing a Framework for Dynamic Risk Assessment
is the article title, and Sexual Abuse: A Journal of
Research and Treatment is the journal title.

If the title link takes you to a site that charges -
be sure to check the TWU online catalog.
