Research for book reviews may require searching different databases for the information that is needed.
Databases for Published Book Reviews
- Academic Search Complete
- Book Index with Reviews
- Book Review Digest Plus
- Books in Print- the orange star to the left of the title means there are title reviews for the book
- MasterFILE Premier
- JSTOR - remember there is a 5 year moving wall so any recently published book will not be in JSTOR
- Literature Online
- New York Times' Book Section- search for the title of the book in the box under the words "Search Book Reviews since 1981:" for a review in the New York Times Book Review section
- Subject Specific databases often include book reviews (Library Literature, PSYCHinfo, etc.)
Databases for Author Information
If the author is not listed in the above databases, try searching Google for the publishers website. You can also search Google using the author's name to locate interviews or other published information.
