Founder's Day

  • Founders' Award

In 1924, the ex-Students association chose January 10 as College of Industrial Arts Pancake Night. The date was selected to honor the laying of the corner stone of the Administration Building on January 10, 1903. A pancake carrying 21 birthday candles was a special feature at the occasion.

In 1936, about the time CIA became Texas State College for Women, the name Pancake Night was changed to Founder's Day. Students provided the programs and sponsored fund-raising projects in honor of the event.
