Sally A. Redd

Ms. Redd graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Government in 2004, and finished her Master of Arts degree in 2006 both from Texas Woman's University in Denton. In her current capacity of Project Coordinator for LEMIT, she organizes LEMIT materials, assists LEMIT participants with ARP preparation and serves as a liaison to Texas Woman's University. In 2007, she was honored to be awarded the Pioneer Proud Staff Award for Texas Woman’s University.
In 2002, she was elected to the Watauga City Council where she worked to create unity throughout the city and worked on economic and social projects. She was elected to serve as the City Council's Mayor Pro-Tem after only one year of service and served as a charter member of the Quad Cities Foundation that worked to bring economic and business development to the Northeast Tarrant County area. She has been a member of the Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce, Texas Municipal League and served as the Chairperson for the Citizens Advisory Board as well as being a Friend of the Watauga Library.
Ms. Redd has been recognized for her civil and educational efforts, where she has received numerous awards and honors for her work. In 1997 she was given the American Red Cross Certificate of Appreciation for Service in a Disaster honor for helping serve her community after it was devastated by a F5 tornado. Also, she was recognized by the City of Watauga from 2001-2004 and given the Volunteer Award of Appreciation. When she served on the Watauga City Council, she was very active with the Texas Municipal League and was recognized in 2003 and 2004 and was given the Award of Achievement for Education.
Because of a job transfer, Ms. Redd had to resign her seat on the council and was given a City of Watauga Proclamation in 2004 as well as an Award of Appreciation. While attending Texas Woman's University as an undergraduate, she received the Dawson-Driggs Scholarship in 2002 and 2003 and in 2004 received the Eleanor Roosevelt Public Service Award. As a member of numerous honor societies she strived to achieve excellence in her education, proving that non-traditional students are an asset to the university community. She graduated as an Honors Scholar from Texas Woman's University and as a graduate student, maintained a 4.0 GPA while attending school, working and serving as an intern in Dallas Mayor Laura Miller's office.
