Welcome!  It has been many years since the department last published an alumni newsletter. Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Bettye Myers, we will be back on track to publishing our newsletter twice a year.

A Special Request from Dr. Bettye Myers

For several years the Department of Kinesiology has had an account called Friends of Kinesiology for special needs that appear now and then, and regularly, that need a few or several dollars.  Since that time alumni and faculty have continued to contribute to the Friends of Kinesiology account which has allowed several other projects, events, and needs to be met.

LEAD-UP: LEADing the Fight Against Diabetes

Read Dr. Vic Ben-Ezra's story acquainting you with LEAD-UP (Lifestyle Education Access for Diabetics: a University Program), a program funded by the Flow Health Care Foundation, Inc. The program offers the Denton and TWU communities supervised exercise and nutritional counseling for free to people who have diabetes or those who are at risk for developing diabetes.

Adapted Physical Activity Program Wins National Award

Texas Woman’s University’s adapted physical activity program recently was chosen as “Program of the Year” by the Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC), a branch of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD).
