Instructional Support Services

Computer Resources

The resources available through Instructional Support Services encompass every campus of TWU and include computer labs and classrooms, multimedia systems, and video-conferencing services.

General Use Labs

General labs are open for all students, faculty and staff during regular hours of operation. Hours for General Use Labs are coordinated with the academic class schedule so students are provided with ample access to all facilities.

Computer Classrooms

In addition to the traditional teaching classrooms, computer classrooms are available on all campuses to facilitate teaching and learning in a hands-on computer lab environment. These computer classrooms may be scheduled on a regular or occasional basis through University Scheduling. Typically, the rooms have computers at each student desk with software to support the particular learning activity.

Technology Enhanced Classrooms

An array of technology is available to support teaching and presentation activities in the general classrooms. Instructor podiums are equipped with a computer, a laptop outlet, a document camera, DVD/VCR players, audio and video controls, and data projection. In some rooms portable systems are available to allow the use of technology in a more flexible manner. Academic departments may also have technology resources that are specific to a particular discipline and support unique learning experiences.
