Who We Are
Peer Mentors are upper-class students at TWU who have a genuine interest in mentoring incoming students and assisting in their transition and retention to TWU. Mentors are critical in the overall success of the program and are held to a high standard. Benefits of being a peer mentor include programming experience, mentoring experience, working in a team/staff environment, as well as opportunities to develop communication and leadership skills.
General Qualifications
- Maintain a 2.75 minimum GPA from the time of application and through the end of the Spring 2011 semester; 3.0 preferred.
- Must be classified as a junior or senior by August 2011
- Maintain a good academic and disciplinary standing with the University throughout the program.
- First Generation College Students preferred
Recruitment for Peer Mentors begins in the spring semester of the academic year.
