Employee Benefits: Funeral Leave

An employee shall be granted leave because of a death in the employee's immediate family which includes the employee's spouse, or the employee's or spouse's parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren and children.

Absence necessitated by death in the employee's immediate family shall entitle him or her to leave with pay for the time required to attend the funeral and necessary travel time. The total time allowance normally shall not exceed three (3) days. Funeral leave shall not be deducted from vacation leave.
