Purchase TRS Service
There are several options that will allow you to purchase additional years of service through TRS.
Refer to the TRS Handbook under Special Service Credit for information on this
type of credit.
Contact TRS for a cost estimate. Listed below are a few examples:

Withdrawn Service - if you withdrew TRS service from previous employment, you may be eligible to purchase that time back

Out-of-State Service - if you were employed by a public school system or college in another state, you
may be eligible to purchase up to 15 years of out-of-state service

Military Service - if you were in the military, you
may be eligible to purchase up to 5 years of service

State Sick and/or Personal Leave - If you have 50+ days (or 400+ hours) of Sick Leave, you may
be eligible to purchase 1 year of service.
