Kitty Winter
Magee (1912 - 2002) |
Kitty Winter Magee graduated from CIA in
1934 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and earned
a Master's in Physical Education in 1938. She was an associate professor in
the Department of Physical Education from 1950 to 1981, retiring with the
title, Professor Emerita. Her love of teaching was reflected in her quest to
provide young women with quality opportunities. As a lasting tribute to
Kitty, the Pioneer Hall arena was named in her honor in 1998. Kitty passed
away October 25, 2002 at the age of ninety. Students, faculty, and friends
pause each year to honor and celebrate the life of Kitty Magee and her many
contributions to TWU. She was a model of unswerving loyalty to her alma
mater and her profession. |
