Dental Hygiene Program

Admission

Students can transfer to TWU to begin the dental hygiene program at the sophomore level.  The Freshman level dental hygiene course - Orientation to Dental Hygiene can be taken in conjunction with sophomore level classes. Otherwise, all dental hygiene courses must be taken in sequence.

Any student accepted to TWU may declare Dental Hygiene as his or her major.  DH 1101 Orientation to Dental Hygiene is offered in the freshman year and is open to all students.  However, the Dental Hygiene Program is competitive and no Dental Hygiene course may be taken past the freshman year unless the student is accepted into the program.  Students accepted into the program, who have not had the freshman DH class, will be allowed time during the sophomore year to take this class.

The Dental Hygiene Selection Committee begins the selection process in January prior to the fall semester when each new sophomore-level class begins.  Applicants will be notified of acceptance before the end of the spring semester.
