Unconditional Admission into
the Health Care Administration program requires that the applicant's grade-point
average (GPA) on the last 60 hours of undergraduate/graduate work and the
total score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), or the verbal
and quantitative scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), meet the following
minimum index when inserted into the appropriate formula.
Minimum Index Requirements
GMAT-based Index Formula: (200 x GPA) + GMAT
= 1,000 Minimum
GRE-based Index Formula: GPA x (GRE-Verbal
+ GRE-Quantitative) = 2,750 Minimum
If the index score fails to meet
the minimum requirement, but attains at least 90% of the minimum, an applicant
may be given an opportunity to submit additional documentation in support
of the application for graduate study.
Provisional Admission into
the Health Care Administration program is offered: (1) to applicants who
fail to attain the minimum index score required for unconditional admission,
but attain at least 90% of the minimum and are recommended by the HCA program
admissions committee, and (2) to applicants who attain the minimum index
score, but whose GPA is below 3.0 (B). A student granted provisional
admission will not be permitted to continue in the program if the student's
GPA falls below 3.0, or a grade below B is earned, during the first 12
semester hours of enrollment.
