Speech-Language Pathology Leveling

Speech-Language Pathology – Leveling / Prerequisite

Preparation for Masters Program in Speech-Language Pathology

If students have a bachelor's degree in a field that is not Communication Sciences and Disorders (or similar name), they must successfully complete basic prerequisite "leveling" courses before beginning graduate work in Speech-Language Pathology at Texas Woman's University. Students must take leveling courses from TWU or any ASHA accredited university speech pathology program which offers equivalent content. TWU levelers must apply and be accepted before taking the leveling sequence. Leveling courses are offered online.

For both the on-campus and TETN venues, students must begin leveling as Post Baccalaureate students, and apply to the graduate SLP program at a later date. Completion of leveling courses as a Post Baccalaureate student does not guarantee automatic acceptance into the Speech/Language Pathology master's program.

Students intending to apply for admittance into a TETN cycle must complete all leveling coursework prior to beginning graduate coursework.  Completion of leveling courses is not an automatic acceptance into the TETN venue of the TWU master's program in Speech-Language Pathology.

To request SLP leveling information, please e-mail COMS@mail.twu.edu or write to the COMS Dept.  Be sure to include your US postal mailing address or your e-mail address.
