• Represents TWU in the Texas Medical Center
• Identifies research collaborations
• Consults with faculty, directors, department heads and deans to identify areas of research interest and to develop research agendas
• Provides direction and guidance to faculty and staff inthe development, reveiw and submission of proposals for extramural funding
• Works with the Denton ORSP staff in designing and implementing a University-wide education program on research

The Office of Research at the TWU Institute of Health Sciences in Houston offers the following services for faculty:

• Notices about current Requests for Proposals relevant to your field of research
• Assistance with development, preparation and submission of grant proposals
• Planning for research related programs, seminars and workshops
• Assistance with publicizing newsworthy projects

Please call  (713) 794-2480 to schedule an appointment to discuss your need for any of the following services:

• To receive notices about current Requests for Proposals relevant to your field of research
• To implement a comprehensive funding search; (be prepared to provide a brief description of the proposed project and several relevant key words).  (Allow 7-10 days for completion of project).
• For assistance with the development, preparation, and submission of grant proposals
  • obtaining grant guidelines and applications
  • developing a budget
  • collecting institutional and other types of data
  • proposal reviewing, critiquing and editing
  • coordinating with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for approval signatures  

Note:  Grant proposal submissions must be coordinated through the Office of Research.  A TWU Proposal Approval Form must be completed and attached to proposals before they are sent to Denton.

• For assistance with grant management:
  • setting up and managing grant accounts
  • hiring grant-related purchasing, bids, etc;
  • research-related purchasing, bids, etc.;
  • troubleshooting grant management problems
• Other research services provided by Houston Research personnel:
