Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Thursday morning, August 21st we will begin at 8:00 a.m. in Lecture Hall 2120.  The day will be open to new Graduate Students across all academic disciplines, and cover such areas as parking and transportation within TMC, health-related resources, registering for classes and financial aid possibilities.  Groups will be created after the first three hours, and the Orientation will continue to unfold, addressing such hands-on necessities like:  obtaining an ID Badge, going on a campus tour, becoming acquainted with Internet-based medical resources, and an overview of the Houston Academy of Medicine - Texas Medical Center Library.  Laced throughout the day will be introductions to several services provided by the Counseling Center, Security (Department of Public Safety - DPS), Student Life; and opportunities possible through Campus Ministries, Student Government, and other registered student organizations.  PhD Nursing Students will join the larger group for the first two hours of Orientation, then break away for sessions more tailored to their specific academic pursuit.

 

Doctoral Occupational Therapy Students*Please note:  During this Graduate Student Orientation, time has been carved out of the day for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy students to break away for an hour respectively to attend department specific information sessions.
