The main purpose of computer labs is the extension of the classroom
environment and learning process, providing information services in a Windows
platform. All the computers run the Windows XP Professional operating
system and Office 2003 Professional along with several other specific software.
We are now offering wireless accessibility to the Internet throughout our new
building.
Only an enrolled TWU student, faculty or staff
with a valid Pioneer Portal account will have access to this network. Also,
the system will check the laptop against minimal requirements related to virus
protection, service packs and security patches so that the laptop can be granted
access. There are several easy steps to follow in order to gain access. Please
click here for the instructions. (We are
still in the tuning-up phase for the wireless network. It will take some time
for it to be fully deployed.)
Technology Resource Room 4116 is now
available to students by reservation in 3-hour block. It's equipped with
a PC with photo and video editing software - Photoshop CS2 and Pinnacle
Studio 10, a microphone for audio recording, a scanner and a 21"
wide-screen monitor for ease of viewing.
We also have the following equipments
available for 3-day checkout:
1 Canon MiniDV video camera with
accessories.
3 digital voice recorders.
