counseling centerThe Counseling Center assist students that might find themselves facing academic stress, anxiety, depression, family disruption or the surfacing of old issues that were thought to be resolved. The two psychologists at the Counseling Center are always there to help with the many stresses that life transitions bring your way.  All currently enrolled student and their significant others, if accompanied by the students are eligible for services. There are no additional cost for counseling services it is included in the Student Service fee. The Counseling Center ensures that all communication is confidential except as mandated by law. In the reception area self help materials have been provided for your convenience, you may also find self help materials online at  http://www.twu.edu/counseling/online-resources.asp   

 Hours of Operation and Appointments:

  • Monday through Friday  8AM - 5PM
  • Please call (713) 794-2059 to schedule appointments or to make special arrangements

Staff                
  Dr. Betty M. Duson is a licensed psychologist, marriage and family therapist, she's been at TWU for six years.   

   Dr. Santhi Periasamy is a licensed psychologist who has worked half time at the Counseling Center for the past two years. 

    Ms. Helen Johnson, the Counseling Center Secretary splits her time between the Counseling Center and the Office of Student Life. 

   Dr. Denise Lucero-Miller is the Director of the TWU Counseling Centers at the Houston, Denton and Dallas campuses.
