Training classes are offered in different format - classroom settings, group training, departmental training, one-on-one training, or online Webinar. End-user software and hardware one-on-one training is also available as needed.

Computer Lab and Computer Classrooms:
The Mega Computer Lab located in Room 4123 offers 116 seat capacity with five laser printers and three scanners for students to use.

Lab hours: Mon.-Fri.: 7am - 9pm
Saturday: 8am - 5pm
Sunday: Closed
We also have three computer classrooms that will meet your needs - Room 4115(40 seats), Room 4310(41 seats), and Room 4322(32 seats). To reserve one of these rooms, please contact University Scheduling at universityscheduling@twu.edu or visit them on the web at http://www.twu.edu/scheduling/
* The Mega Computer Lab 4123 is for TWU enrolled students' academic use only. It can not be reserved for any events or activities.Besides the computer lab and classrooms, computing resouces are available throughout the building.
There are four study rooms located on the 3rd floor. Each room is equipped with a 32" Samsung TV, which can be used as monitor for viewing projects and PowerPoint presentation. Students can check out the cables from ITS computer lab to connect their personal laptops with the monitor in the study room.
There are six computer stations in cybercafe on the first floor. They are equipped with Windows 7 and Office 2010 programs.
A koisk computer has also been set up on every floor beside the small seminar room to meet the students' needs.
There are several digital video cameras that can be checked out for recording lectures and seminars. Please send your request to Jeff Brown (jbrown@twu.edu) or Iris Du (jdu@twu.edu) with specific information. You will receive a confirmation message from us. We also provide other digital video services such as:
- Convert VHS tapes into DVDs
- Create audio/video content that can be streamed campus-wide
- Create audio/video content that can be posted in Blackboard as a Flash video or Podcast
Poster Printing & Design Services:
We have several layout design templates that can be used to design your poster. We can also customize the design template to meet your needs. Please check our updated Poster Printing Procedure, and contact one of our Instructional Producers below to arrange for production or design services. A Poster Invoice Form needs to be filled out and returned with department account # and signature before the poster can be processed.
Scantron Grading Services:For instructors that have scantron tests need to be graded, simply put your scantrons and answer key in a sealed envelope, fill out a Scantron Grading Request form, and then drop it to one of ITS staff. They will be graded and returned to you securely.
We provide classroom technology training and support to enhance your teaching techniques with computers offering the most popular software compatible with your teaching needs. Contact one of the ITS staff to arrange for an one-to-one training and demonstration.
Telephone & Voice Mail Services:
Please cotact the helpdesk at 81-3971 or helpdesk@twu.edu for telephone line services (installation and repair). Please contact the Voice Mail at voicemail@twu.edu to set up a new voice mail or reset your password for voice mail.
CD/DVD Duplicating Services:We've purchased a CD/DVD duplicator with capability of printing labels on CD/DVD. The automated duplicator could duplicate 24 CDs and 10 DVDs per hour with input capacity of 175 discs. Please contact one of the ITS staff for help if you have this need.
Faculty & Staff Technology Manual:
Please refer to our Faculty & Staff Technology Manual for detailed information on services we provide as well as information on phone and voice mail system, Pioneer Portal, and Blackboard. If you are a new faculty or staff to TWU, we encourage you to contact us for an orientation to ITS services. We also encourage you to use the Technology Manual to help you get situated in your new environment. You may download the manual and print it out as your references.
Wireless Network Availability:
We are now offering wireless accessibility to the Internet throughout our new building. Only an enrolled TWU student, faculty or staff with a valid Pioneer Portal account will have access to this network. Also, the system will check the laptop against minimal requirements related to virus protection, service packs and security patches so that the laptop can be granted access. There are several easy steps to follow in order to gain access. Please refer to the Instructions on how to connect to TWU's Wireless Network for details.
*Note: You may experience difficulty when accessing TWU wireless network if you have Windows Vista operating system installed in your laptop.
Multimedia Resources Available to Houston Students:
Technology Resource Room (TRR) 4116 is now available to students by reservation in 3-hour block. It's equipped with a PC with photo and video editing software - Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Premiere Elements, a microphone for audio recording, a scanner, a multi-card reader for retrieving pictures from your digital camera, a 24" wide-screen monitor for ease of viewing, a JVC high end mini-DV deck with DVD burner, and a Samsung high end VHS to DVD burner.
We also have the following equipments available for 3-day checkout:
- 1 Canon MiniDV video camera with accessories.
- 3 digital voice recorders.
