Pioneers for the Cure in Houston

 October 3, 2009

At this year's Houston Race for the Cure, TWU had 70 students, faculty, staff, and alumni join the TWU Houston Pioneers for the Cure.  The TWU team raised $4,485.00 for Breast Cancer Research!  Our Team Captain was Kelli King.
Congratulations to the Houston race participants who won the award for the largest educational team this year!

Volunteer for TWU

Texas Women’s University Office of Alumni Relations invites you to join a network of alumni volunteers who want to participate in the life of the University. You can make a difference for TWU!

Currently volunteers are being sought for the roles listed below.

New Student Recruitment

• Assist a TWU Admissions Representative at a college fair in your area
• Represent TWU at a college fair in your area
• Write a letter to a prospective student encouraging them to enroll at TWU
• Offer your home for a prospective student reception

Speak to Student Groups   

• Speak at student conferences (Leadership, etc.)
• Speak on career related topics; speak about your career
• Speak for special occasions (banquets, meetings, etc)

Volunteer your interests by sending your name, contact information, TWU degree and year and a brief description of your career field and background to AScott2@twu.edu or to AlumniRelations@twu.edu. 

Distinguished Alumni Recognition

What TWU graduate do you know that is making a difference in her/his chosen career field or in society? Nominate that person for a TWU Distinguished Alumni Award. The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2011 Award is September 15, 2010.
