Mackenzie Wysong

Hello! My name is Mackenzie Wysong and I am the Area Manager for Stark Residence Hall. I provide oversight for all happenings in Stark Hall including programming, staff supervision and helping students with any concerns they may have.  Stark Hall houses approximately 550 talented, hardworking and mature women.  Together my staff and I work hand in hand to provide an educational environment that encourages self expression and challenges students to reach their full potential!

I began working at Texas Woman’s University one year ago and prior to coming on board I worked in North Carolina, Ohio and Florida.  You can say I have been on tour since leaving my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA!  So far I have really enjoyed my time in Texas and I am anxious to get to know as many of you as I can this upcoming year. I have a master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and I truly enjoy working within higher education.  Some of my interests lie in leadership development, bridging the gap between academic and co-curricular involvement on campus as well as counseling students in need. 

Although my position keeps me busy I do find time to live a balanced life here in Denton and the surrounding area.  When I am not working I enjoy watching a variety of sports (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers!), attending plays/concerts/comedy shows, reading a great book and taking full advantage of all that the DFW area has to offer.  

One piece of advice I would like to share with every student is to remember to start each academic year with a positive attitude; it will be as great as YOU make it so be the very BEST that you can be in ALL areas of your life.
