My name is Eric Johnson and I am the Residence Director in Guinn Hall. I have been at TWU for the last two years and I am eagerly looking forward to my third year on campus and seeing the communities that are going to grow and form. Before coming to TWU I worked at a couple of institutions, one in my home state of North Carolina and another here in Texas. I love the direct student contact that this job allows me and seeing the difference that the education system both in and out of class has on a person at this stage in their life in my opinion is quite great. Everyone that is at this institution has made the choice to better themselves and grow, and one of my personal tasks is to help that growth. Professionally my favorite part of the job is a tie between programming and working closely with one of our many student leaders on campus to accomplish a goal that they have set for themselves. I truly do believe that our campus provides a wealth of leadership opportunities, be it by becoming a part of the housing staff, or working to be a student’s voice thru Resident Hall Association or a Hall Council. The chances to be a leader on campus are there, it’s just your task to take them. In my free time I am also a student like your self getting my Masters of Fine Arts with a concentration in Motion Pictures and Television. So don’t be surprised if you see me around Denton with my camera.
