An integral part of being an honors scholar at Texas Woman's University is giving back to the university and community in terms of time, energy, and talents. Students in the program have designed a service component which offers participants three ways to fulfill this requirement. There are three flexible options:
Community Service
Students must volunteer for an average of 12.5 hours per semester. A few of the organizations we are affiliated with are:
- Spirit Horse
- Meals on Wheels
- Denton Campus Theater
- Christian Community Action
- First United Methodist

Service on a Committee
Because TWU's Honors Program looks to its students for leadership honors students are also encouraged to fulfill the service requirement by service on one of a number of committees that help guide and enrich the program. A few examples include:
- Publications Committee
- Fundraising Committee
- Service Committee
- Social/Cultural Committee
- Recruiting Committee
Service as an Officer
