Smaller, more stimulating classes offer students the chance to interact with some of TWU's best professors
Opportunities to work with a faculty mentor
Through Honors Contracts, Capstone Projects, and Cooperative Education, honors students have the unique experience of working one on one with professors in their field of study.
Travel Abroad
The honors program hosts a trip annually to destinations such as Rome, Athens, Germany, Paris, Spain, and Ireland. Students earn three hours of honors credit and study the art, history, culture, and literature of the destination
Great Plains Honors Council Conference
Each year several honors students attend this annual conference. Students travel to places such as San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City. Students have the opportunity to present research or creative works and interact with other honors students from other schools. They also have the opportunity to visit museums and other attractions in the city in which the conference is held.
National Collegiate Honors Council
Several TWU honors scholars also attend the NCHC conference each year, which is held in cities such as Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. Students attend workshops on various topics, have the opportunity to see the sights of the town, and meet other honors scholars from around the nation.
Guest Speakers
Each year the honors program brings distinguished guest speakers to talk with honors students on a variety of issues ranging from academic subjects to cultural subjects to humanitarian efforts.
Other Academic Benefits
Several additional academic benefits such as early registration, special library privileges, supplemental academic advising, and assistance in applying for scholarships or fellowships.
