- Complete an official TWU enrollment application (available online at http://www.twu.edu/). Click on “admissions” and then “application”. YOU MUST BE ACCEPTED BY THE UNIVERSITY prior to applying to our online program. If you are a transfer student, you will need to send official transcripts to the TWU registrar of all previous college credit completed.
- Once you receive a response from TWU admissions that you are accepted to TWU, you can then apply for the B.S. in Health Studies Online Degree.
- Verify that your cumulative GPA is at least 3.00 (our minimum GPA requirement for entry into the HS online program).
- Complete the Accuplacer (Writing section) with a minimum score of 82/6 (Cost: $10 per section at any local community college). Effective Fall 2010.
- Complete the Online Program Application that is available on the Department of Health Studies website. Click here to download.
- Complete the Readiness for Education At a Distance Indicator (READI) Assessment that is available at http://twu.readi.info/. Select the user name "HSPREADI", then, enter the password "online". Complete the Pesonal Information section. Be sure to provide your email information - if you need to stop the test and resume it later, you will need the PIN number READI sends out to you via email. Once you have completed the assessment, print out these results and staple them to your application.
- Include unofficial copies of your transcripts with your online application materials.
What are the computer requirements for an online program?
- Pentium processor or better
- Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, ME, XP or Vista
- 500 MB hard drive (if downloading files, 2 GB should be minimum)
- 64 MB of RAM
- 56K modem
- Sound capability (sound card and speakers)
- Access to the Internet via an Internet Service Provider of your choice (i.e., AT&T, AOL, Earthlink, MSN, etc.)
- Internet Explorer 5.X or higher [Recommended] or Safari.
- Ability to log into your Pioneer Portal account for all student email correspondence [Note: You may also set your Portal email account to forward to an email account of choice (i.e., Hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc.).]
- A word processing package such as Microsoft Word (preferred)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader Software
- Microsoft Powerpoint Reader
- A current anti-virus software
What is the course fee for an online course?
The estimated amount of course fees for an online course is $110 to $300 per credit course. For more information you can contact the Office of Lifelong Learning at 940-898-3409.
What is the GPA requirement for the online undergraduate student?
The GPA requirement for the BS online program is 3.0, and 2.75 for the BAS online program.

I am an international student, how many online courses can I take per semester?
As an international student you are only allowed to take one online course per semester.
Can I take a HS online course if I am not a Health Studies major or have not been officially accepted into the program?
Students who are not in the Online Health Studies program may petition to take a Health Studies elective course online. However, online Health Studies core courses are for online students only, unless approval is granted by the Online Program Director.
