Through a joint program of the Department of Health Studies and the School of Library and Information Studies, graduate students may now pursue a dual Master of Health Studies and a Master in Library Science
. This dual dregree program prepares specialized professionals for careers in health sciences information services and library services, as well as in the field of health education and health promotion. Graduates of this program will have the combined professional expertise of both disciplines to address society's growing needs for health information stemming from the rapid growth in information technologies.

Written comprehensive final examinations based on the core coursework are required. Students taking the comprehensive examinations are required to score 80% or better and it may be taken more than once. The examinations will be given at the close of HS 5383 and LS Final Exam Portfolio.
