Fuqin Liu, Ph.D., RN

Fuqin Liu is an Assistant Professor at Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing, Denton campus. She teaches across RN-BSN, MS, and doctoral programs. Her overall program of research is related to maternal and child health promotion, specifically preconception health promotion and policies that shape global women’s health care. Fuqin obtained her PhD in nursing science degree from the University of Washington, where she worked as an assistant to the director for International Programs for three years. Fuqin’s research and professional interests include nursing education from a global perspective and various women’s health topics. Fuqin and her colleague, Dr. Judith McFarlane offered a study abroad course in Spring 2013. This special topics course explored policy and practice in relation to the health of women and families in China. A ten-day cultural immersion experience in Southeast China was required for this course. This course will be offered every other year. Fuqin’s recent research project is on reproductive life planning for women who have experienced intimate partner violence.
