The College of Arts and Sciences promotes an understanding

The overwhelming majority of our courses are taught by
full-time faculty and the small size of our classes encourages student
and faculty interactions. The ratio of faculty to students is approximately
one faculty member per 16 students.

The College of Arts and Sciences is comprised of the
Departments of Biology; Business and Economics; Chemistry and Physics;
English, Speech and Foreign Languages; Fashion and Textiles; History and
Government; Mathematics and Computer Science; Performing Arts (Dance, Drama,
and Music); Psychology and Philosophy; Sociology and Social Work; and Visual
Arts. The Women’s Studies Program is also part of the College.
Programs offered by the College lead to the degrees
of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor
of Social Work, Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts, Master of Science,
