The TWU School of Occupational Therapy signature events bring clinicians together, introduce new ideas to the community through invited guests and form a platform for networking on scholarly topics important to the profession.  Sponsorships are accepted at Premier and Standard levels. Houston Campus School of Occupational Therapy 50th Anniversary Celebration

Coming September 20, 2012, a gathering of alumni and current students to celebrate the presence of Texas Woman’s University School of Occupational Therapy in Houston.

Bridging the Gap

Hosted by the Denton Occupational Therapy Student Honor Society Pi Theta Epsilon, Bridging the Gap is an evening event that features academic expertise and discussion on relationship with occupational therapy practice.  The event will occur in early November 2012.

Community Building Workshops associated with the Vanderkooi Endowed Lectureship –Annually February

These workshops are held annually and compliment the Vanderkooi Endowed Lectureship which is held in February at the T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Science Building- Dallas Center in the Dallas Medical Center area.  Approximately 100 attendees (students, faculty and practicing therapists) attend 5 different workshops during the day. 

Celebration of Scholarship

Hosted by the Dallas Occupational Therapy Student Honor Society Pi Theta Epsilon, Celebration of Scholarship showcases TWU research, invites commentary from occupational therapy researchers and is attended by local clinicians. The event occurs in late March or April each spring.                   

Mary Joyce Newsom Annual Award Event – Annually -April 19th, 2012

An annual event for Houston campus MOT students with community members – held in April at the Houston Center campus of TWU on Fannin Street in the world renowned Texas Medical Center. This is a late afternoon event – beginning at 4 p.m. with approximately 100 attendees including generally 80 students, 15 clinicians and school of OT faculty -- limited sponsorships are available.

TWU PhD in Occupational Therapy Research Symposium (Fall 2013)

Plans are underway now for the inaugural PhD in Occupational Therapy Research Symposium which will be held in Fall 2013 on the Houston Center campus of TWU on Fannin Street in the world renowned Texas Medical Center.  This event promises to be an exciting educational opportunity for practicing therapists in the Medical Center, Houston and across the state; to become an annual event.
