When the TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center opened in February 2011. This facility combined the university’s Parkland and Presbyterian campuses into an eight-story, 190,383 square foot vertical campus building contiguous to the U.T. Southwestern Medical District. This modern campus facility includes a 600 space parking garage to accommodate TWU students, faculty and staff in this highly congested area. The technology laden building is Silver LEED Certified, in keeping with our goal of reducing the University’s carbon footprint and requires green cleaning products as well as continued environmental strategies and methodology for sustainability. Academic programs focus on the use of innovative teaching methodologies and practice laboratories that offer work place simulation environments to give students real-world learning experiences. The Dallas Center FMC staff cumulatively has 467 years of experience and is responsible for providing maintenance and upkeep for the various high-end natural finishes, the Stroke Center, a beautiful grand Lobby in addition to multiple classrooms, and an auditorium, student study spaces, dining/lounge space, a fitness center, primary care exam rooms, a dock and, of course, the garage.
