Bethany Bloom’s Bio NASM-CPT, RD
As a graduate student in the Exercise and Sports Nutrition program, I wanted to continue my career as a personal trainer, so I chose nothing but TWU Fitness and Recreation. Before I moved here, I attended the University of North Dakota to obtain my B.S. in Dietetics. While studying nutrition, I could not avoid the link between nutrition and exercise; therefore, I decided to obtain a personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise. I worked two years for the campus Wellness Center where I trained with students, faculty and staff. I also had the opportunity to teach spin class and a bootcamp class. After graduating, I became a registered dietitian and moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area to work for Life Time Fitness as a personal trainer and nutrition coach. I was responsible for providing the nutrition education for all the team programs, and I also met with clients one-on-one for training sessions and nutrition education. While working there, I obtained a different personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Through the past few years, I have had the privilege to work with a variety of clients – those training for athletics, weight loss, motivation, a change in routine and/or health maintenance.

As a student in the TWU Kinesiology program, I am focused on creating fitness programs that can change lives. I am certified by AFFA as a Group Exercise Instructor which supports the comprehensive perspective that I bring to every training session. My five years of fitness experience includes, but is not limited to, Boot Camp, Cardio Strength, & Step Aerobics. My focus for every training session is form and quality over quantity. Having worked with absolute beginners as well as professional bodybuilders, I can adapt any workout regimen to provide the maximum benefit to all levels of fitness. When the body is fit, the mind follows; I strive to provide training sessions that challenge each and every individual to achieve their maximum potential.
Justin Karcher, CPT (NASM)
I’m currently a senior level undergraduate in the Kinesiology program (Pre PT) here on campus. I am 22 and have been weight training for a little over six years now with a year and a half experience working as a health and fitness professional. I believe through hard work, determination, and perseverance that anyone can accomplish their health and fitness goals, and that my job as a personal trainer is to use a multidisciplinary approach of lifestyle and behavioral modifications to ensure that these goals are met and maintained. I work hard myself, and understand through personal experience the difficulties of achieving health and fitness goals on your own. As your trainer, I will do my best to ensure you obtain an understanding of the fundamentals of exercise and nutrition while providing challenging exercise sessions geared towards your unique needs and goals.
