Outdoor Adventure Rental Center

The Outdoor Adventure Center is now open! Located in the new Student Recreation Center, TWU faculty, staff, and students can rent various outdoor equipment including bikes, tents, camping equipment, sports equipment, and more! Click here for a list of equipment and prices.
All rentals are on a first come, first serve basis and can only be rented during open hours. Contact the OAC (940-898-2918) during open hours for more information or call the Fitness Center front desk (940-898-2900).

Paintball: (20 spots available)
Date: Saturday, February 18, 2012
Location: Gatsplat in Lewisville
Pre-trip Meeting: Monday, February 13, 2012
Depart: Fitness and Recreation Center 1pm
Provided: Transportation, snacks and all necessary equipment
Bring: Long pants, long sleeves and closed toe shoes.
Cost: $20 per student
Deadline to Register: Friday, February 10, 2012
Requirements: Paid in full by February 10th with all documents and waivers signed before the trip departs.
Skill level: Beginner
Registration opens: January 17th
The facility will educate participants before the activity begins. No previous paintball experience is necessary.
Camping, Biking, & Hiking: (10 spots available)
Date: Friday - Saturday, March 30-31, 2012
Location: Lake Ray Roberts
Pre-trip Meeting: March 26th, 2012 - Fitness and Recreation Center Studio 1
Depart: Fitness and Recreation Center 1pm
Provided: Transportation, food and all necessary equipment
Bring: Clothes, personal hygiene products, a towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug pray, any necessary prescriptions, a water bottle, laundry bag and extra hair ties.
Cost: $45 per student
Deadline to Register: Friday, March 16, 2012
Requirements: Paid in full by March 16th with all documents and waivers signed before the trip departs.
Skill level: Intermediate
Registration opens: February 13th
Participants will be required to assist with campsite set up including assembling tents, cleaning duties, and unloading equipment.
Biking: (10 spots available)
Date: Saturday, April 13th
Location: Lake Ray Roberts
Pre-trip Meeting: April 16th - Fitness and Recreation Center
Depart: Fitness and Recreation Center 1pm
Provided: Transportation, snacks and all necessary equipment
Bring: Hat, sunglasses, a water bottle and wear closed toe shoes.
Cost: $20 per student
Deadline to Register: Friday, April 13th
Requirements: Paid in full by April 13th with all documents and waivers signed before the trip departs.
Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate
Registration opens: March 5th
Participants will cycle close to 10 miles on dirt and various terrain. Previous mountain bike experience preferred for all participants.
Breckenridge Ski Trip: (closed)
Date: January 10-14, 2012
Location: Breckenridge, CO
Pre-trip Meetings: At 12:30pm on Oct. 6, Nov. 8, and Dec. 8
Depart: DFW airport, time TBA
Provided: Transportation, 4 nights accommodation, ski rental equipment, a 3 day lift ticket, breakfast & dinner on ski days.
Cost: $575 per student
Deadline to Register: open until filled. Pay plan is available or payment may be paid in full. $125 deposit reserves your spot.
$112.50 will be due Oct 5th, Nov. 5th, Dec. 5th, and Jan. 2nd. Late fees will apply.

Previous ski experience is not required. Lessons may be purchased at the participants expense and are strongly recommended.
Hawaii Adventure Trip: (wait list only)
Date: May 17-24, 2012
Location: Honolulu and the Island of Oahu
Pre-trip Meetings: At 12:30pm on Oct. 4, Dec. 6, and spring dates to TBA.
Depart: DFW airport, time TBA
Provided: R/T airfare from DFW, transportation on the island, 7 nights accommodation, most excursions including hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and more!
Cost: $875 per student
Pay plan is available or payment may be paid in full. $100 deposit reserves your spot. $100.00 will be due each month beginning in September by the 15th of the month.
A final payment of $75 will be due May 1st. Late fees will apply. Participants are responsible for all food, drinks, souvenirs, extra excursions, and any baggage fees.

Skill level: Intermediate
Participants may be required to pass a basic skills test during pre-trip meetings in order to go on the trip. The activities planned for this trip will require physical stamina such as hiking on diverse terrain, kayaking on the open ocean, and basic swimming skills needed for snorkeling. Details and a tentative itinerary will be discussed at the first pre-trip meeting in October.
