The site is designed to introduce you to a dynamic group of academic degree programs and an exceptional faculty, both requiring the necessary rigor that will prepare students for success in our comprehensive and vastly changing twenty-first century world. Specifically, the department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the following areas:
B. S., M.S., Ph.D. in Child Development
M. S. in Counseling and Development
M. Ed., Ed. D. in Early Childhood Education
B. S. in Family and Consumer Sciences
B. S., M. S., Ph. D. in Family Studies
M. S., Ph. D. in Family Therapy
In addition, the Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development offers an emphasis in Child Life Specialization, preparation for a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, or preparation for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies offers preparation for the Master’s in Occupational Therapy and Family and Consumer Sciences with preparation for Teacher Certification. The Department also offers early childhood education classes in support of EC-6 Generalist Certification program offered through Interdisciplinary Studies.
Our graduate programs are exemplary. It begins with our faculty and extends to our students. The faculty are excellent teachers in the classroom and are outstanding mentors in dissertation research projects and independent studies. They are excited about and love the teaching-learning process. In addition, our Master’s in Family Studies is online and one may complete the entire program on line. We are most pleased with our exceptional graduate training in clinical education that supports our Counseling and Development and Family Therapy programs.
