- Library Acquisitions Requests
-
The University is committed to a Library policy that provides a variety of
resources to meet the curricular and research needs of the students and faculty.
Faculty members are invited and expected to make appropriate requests to
maintain basic and current holdings in their respective disciplines. Funds from
the Library budget are allocated to every academic component for
the purchase of books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials. Faculty are
especially encouraged to select the classics in their disciplines, primary
source materials, journals that record the most significant research, and
audio-visual materials that will enrich the curriculum. Faculty members should
present their requests to their component library representative who, in turn,
gathers and sends the approved requests to the Acquisitions Librarian. Additional course
fee funds are available for library materials to enrich classroom instruction.
Faculty members need only to identify the course and forward requests directly
to the Acquisitions Librarian.
