Toni Roddey has received the 2007 Cardon Award for Excellence in a Published Research Article from the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy for her co-authorship of the article entitled “Documentation of Red Flags by Physical Therapists for Patients with Low Back Pain.”

Dr. JoAnn Danelo Barbour (educational leadership) received a Reviewer of the Year award from the Journal of Research in Leadership Education (JRLE) during a recent conference in Washington, D.C.  She was honored for continuing to provide “timely and comprehensive feedback to our authors,” according to the editor of the journal.

Dr. Gail Davis, College of Nursing, has been named the recipient of the 2008 John A. Hartford Geriatric Nursing Research Award by the Southern Nursing Research Society

Dr. O. Jayne Bowman received the honor of “Best Scientific Poster” at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Hand Therapists in Phoenix Arizona, October 7, 2007.

Mission

The Faculty Center at Texas Woman’s University is dedicated to facilitating excellence in teaching, mentoring, scholarship, leadership and professional service.

Consistent with the strategic goal to recruit, develop and retain highly qualified faculty, the center shall focus institutional initiatives from across the campus to support faculty development from recruitment through retirement. The Center hosts a range of services from group workshops to faculty learning communities and individual consultations. The teaching/learning spaces of the center can be reserved by departments or individuals for workshops or meetings for the purpose of faculty development.
