The cool weather is coming (and going) and in Texas that is a good sign that fall is on its way! Can you believe we are nearly at midterm? Hopefully, everyone's courses are going well. Hang in there!
You are getting this newsletter because you are enrolled in at least one course that has a televideo or internet component. We call these types of courses distance learning courses. If you feel that you have received this newsletter in error please let me know by contacting me at DL@mail.twu.edu .
Important Dates
Mark your calendars! The following dates are important and may affect you:
- October 7 - Last day to drop (by 5 p.m.) without academic penalty
- October 27 - Final installment payment due by 5 p.m.
- November 3 - Last day to drop or withdraw (by 5 p.m.)
**DROPPING A COURSE - If you need to drop a course you have until this Friday to do so before a WF shows up on your transcript if you are not passing the course. You can contact me at DL@mail.twu.edu or call me at (940) 898-3411 to drop a distance learning course.
If you are dropping all your courses , you must go through the Office of Student Life. You can reach them at LQuinones@twu.edu .
Student ID Cards
If you have not received your student ID card, please contact the ID Office at NLewis@twu.edu.
Job Fairs
Career Services is offering two more career days for the fall semester.
- Nursing Career Day - Monday, October 17, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dallas Parkland Campus
- Teacher Career Day - Friday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Denton Campus

Student Health Services
Please remember that if all your courses are online, your Medical Services fee is waived. This means that you are NOT eligible to use any of the student health services offered by the university. This includes going to the health clinic on campus. To be eligible, you need to take at least one face to face class.

Even as a distance learner, you are eligible for the counseling services offered by TWU. Unfortunately, counseling cannot be provided over the phone or through e-mail but there are some online options. Please visit the following links to find out what counseling services are available to you.
