Since the last edition, midterm has come and gone, registration for spring begins today and finals will be here before you know it. The semester is flying by!

Important Dates
Mark your calendars! The following dates are important and may affect you:
- November 3 - Last day to drop or withdraw (by 5 p.m.)
- November 24-25 - Thanksgiving Holiday
- December 8 - Last day of classes
- December 10 - Finals begin
- December 15 - Last day of final exams
- December 17 - Commencement – Denton
- December 18 - Commencement - Houston
New Bold Chat
We have upgraded our chat feature. Bold Chat is our chat option that allows you to chat with someone in the Distance Learning Office in real time. You can access the chat from the Distance Learning homepage, or the section for prospective or current students. The log in button will tell you if someone is available to chat. The chat feature is usually available from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feel free to chat with us anytime you have a question about dropping, registering for classes, or about one of our degrees.
Career Services
Graduate Career Enrichment Diversity Conference
Anyone who already graduated with their bachelor or graduate degree or will graduate by June of 2006 is invited to attend the Graduate Career Enrichment Diversity Conference. The theme is Turn the Tables – Have Employers Pursuing You. It will be held in Irving, Texas on November 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel located on Airport Freeway, South Entrance DFW Airport.
This Conference is for upcoming graduates and alumni of TWU. Seventy five to 100 seats are available but only seven to ten are available to TWU students. To apply, please go to https://www.gcediversity.com/register.php
Dinner will be included and business attire is required.
Teacher Career Day
The Annual Teacher Career Day, (hosted jointly by TWU and UNT) will be this Friday, November 4th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hubbard Hall South. To see a list of the participants, please go to http://www.twu.edu/o-cs/cd-TeacherParticipationList.htm.
Career Seminars
The Career Service Office is offering two seminars during November. The first one, “Mastering Your Next Interview” will be Wednesday, November 9th from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Human Development Building, room 209. Deidre Leslie, Director of Career Services will present on how to prepare for a job interview.
The second workshop, entitled “Commercial Real Estate Careers” will be held on Thursday, November 17th from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Pioneer Hall room 202. This workshop will be presented by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). They will provide on overview of careers available in real estate as well as topics such as Business Management & Finance, Design & Development, and Acquisition & Leasing.

Last Day to Drop
The absolute last day to drop a course for fall 2005 is this Thursday, November 3rd by 5 p.m. we are in a period of academic penalty so the drop will show up on your transcript. If you decide you need to drop a course, I need an e-mail from your professor with the following information:
- Your Name
- Student ID number
- Course and section number of the course you want to drop
- Grade (W or WF – This must be assigned by your professor)
Have them send me an e-mail at amabry@mail.twu.edu. Please DO NOT WAIT until the last minute to do this. Begin the process now as it may take a little time to get in touch with your professor.
REMEMBER: If you are dropping all your courses, you must go through Student Life. They can be reached at (940) 898-3615.
