The Connection, December 2006

Only a few more days remain in the fall 2006 semester. Congratulations on making it through! The Distance Learning staff hopes your finals go well and that you each have a great holiday season!

You are receiving this newsletter because you are enrolled in at least one course that has a televideo or internet component. These types of courses are called eLearning courses. If you feel that you have received this newsletter in error or if you have a topic you would like to see addressed, please notify the Distance Learning staff at DL@mail.twu.edu.

Student Insurance for Distance Learners

**Please read the following, corrected information about student fees and insurance for distance learners.

Don’t forget, if you are enrolled in only distance learning courses, the Student Union and Medical Services fees are waived. Accordingly, you are not eligible for these services. To be eligible for Medical Services, you must enroll in a minimum of a one hour face-to-face class.

To be eligible for the Student Insurance, undergraduate students must enroll in a minimum of six hours, three of which must be face-to-face.  Graduate students must enroll in at least three credit hours which must be face-to-face.

Remember, even if the course has a limited number of face-to-face meetings, if the majority of the coursework is online, it will be listed as an Internet or televideo class. Pay close attention to how the class is described in the schedule.
