ENDOWMENT
What is an
endowment?
An
endowment is the donation of funds to a charitable
institution like the Texas Woman's University Foundation
to provide an on going source of income for the care or
financing of a concern that's close to your heart. You can also fund an endowment through a foundation,
either your own or an existing one.
Perhaps there is a program or project
that you want carried out and for which no one else has
taken the initiative. Or maybe you would like to
arrange for annual awards to be presented to individuals
who have shown outstanding achievement such as through
the Chancellor's Endowed Scholarship Program. You
may decide it is in your best interest to let Texas
Woman's University apply the annual income to its most
pressing needs.
Direct
gifts
You may prefer to establish an endowment
by a tax-deductible contribution or bequest directly to
the TWU Foundation to benefit Texas Woman's University. This is the easiest and most economical way to reputedly
support the university.
You arrange with the TWU Foundation to
keep and invest your gift in a named account and apply
the income annually for the purpose you have directed. An endowment is often established in memory of a donor
or a person beloved by the donor. We will be
pleased to honor your request and have many ways of
granting appropriate recognition.
